Jigsaw Visitor Centre
We are a charity that provides support to those visiting someone in prison. We understand that prisoners' families and friends are impacted by imprisonment of a loved one and we aim to make this time easier for all those affected. We're based at HMP Leeds and HMP Wealstun. You can find maps and our opening times on the pages for each prison.
Advice about visiting someone in prison
Our team are happy to give you advice either in person or by phone on topics such as ID requirements when visiting a prison, how to contact someone who is in prison, bringing a prisoner his own clothes and more. You can also find answers to these questions on this website.
Worried about a prisoner?
If you're worried about a prisoner's safety, or mental or physical health you can contact the prison's Safer Custody team directly by phone or online: Contact HMP Leeds. Contact HMP Wealstun.
Support for families and friends of prisoners
If you are struggling with the cost of essentials, Jigsaw at HMP Leeds can provide you with a food parcel. Speak to a member of our team or call us on 0113 203 2771 if you would appreciate this support. (Delivery is not available. You must be able to collect the parcel from the Jigsaw centre). If you need help with benefits, housing, access to healthcare we can make referrals to others who can provide you with one to one support.
Visitor information booklets
Our visitor information booklets provide you with detailed information about each prison, visit our Resources page to take a look at these. You can also download booklets which explain the prison visit process for children.
